I'm not that proficient with a computer. Is this going to be way over my head?

Where do I get the music for this? I know I can't use my old paper music.

Can I really write on the score; and if I erase the marks, will it erase the music?
Q: I have an older organ. Will OrganMuse work with it?
A: As long as your instrument has MIDI capability, OrganMuse will work. If you're not sure if the organ is MIDI-capable, the easiest way to find out is to look for MIDI in and out jacks. Somewhere on the organ, maybe even inside, there will be jacks labeled "MIDI in" and "MIDI out". They will be circular and will have 5 small holes in a smile pattern. (back to top)
Q: I have a pipe organ. Will OrganMuse work with that?
A: The answer is the same. If the organ has MIDI keyboard action, then OrganMuse will turn pages and playback the music. If it employs MIDI stop commands, then it will change the registrations for you. Look for the MIDI in and out jacks, or ask the builder. (back to top)
Q: Do I have to have a computer?
A: No. Everything you need is provided and all the OrganMuse software has been installed and tested. All you have to do is plug it in and turn it on. (back to top)
Q: I don't know anything about MIDI. Is this a problem?
A: No. OrganMuse works using MIDI functions, but what the organist needs is basic computer skills. If you can handle Outlook Express or Microsoft Word, you can easily handle OrganMuse. (back to top)
Q: I use a Mac. Can I get OrganMuse for it?
A: Not yet. Some of the software hasn't been written for the Mac yet, but OrganMuse is simple enough that it won't pose any problem for you. (back to top)
Q: I'm not that proficient with a computer. Is this going to be way over my head?
A: Honestly, anything new - especially technology - can be a bit (or even a lot) intimidating. We've tried to anticipate any problems or concerns you might have, and have created and included the demo video to watch. The video describes all the steps in detail. But the primary page turning software is really quite easy to use and shouldn't cause you to lose any sleep. (back to top)
Q: Where do I get the music for this? I know I can't use my old paper music.
A: There are music files available online from this site with more sites coming in the near future. However, there will always be music that's unavailable - for whatever reason - and you have the choice of having us convert it for you, or you can convert it yourself using the software included with OrganMuse. Just watch the demo video and follow the instructions. (back to top)
Q: How do I get you to convert the music I want?
A: Send your request to OrganMuse Forums - or call us - and we'll do our best to point you in the right direction. (back to top)
Q: Can I call or write to you if I'm having problems?
A: Anytime. (back to top)
Q: I have a very expensive, very beautiful organ console, and I'd like to have OrganMuse built into it. Can this be done?
A: Certainly. Contact us and we'll talk directly. (back to top)
Q: I do a lot of concertizing and this would be great for my upcoming concert tour. Is OrganMuse mobile enough to take on the road?
A: Absolutely. Talk to us about it and we can set it up with carrying cases for airplanes. (back to top)
Q: If I set up the registrations for one organ, will I lose the registrations for the other organs I play on?
A: No. OrganMuse can remember as many registrations for the same piece on as many organs as you like, and they will all be instantly available for as long as you want them. (back to top)
Q: Can I really write on the score, and if I erase the marks, will it erase the music?
A: Yes, you can write and highlight - in a variety of brush stroke sizes and colors - on the score using the tablet, wireless mouse and pen included with OrganMuse. The small screen in the center of the tablet represents your computer screen, and the mouse works when you move it over that small screen. The pen will also move the cursor by moving the pen above the screen. Once you have chosen the writing or highlighting function in the software, move the pen above the screen until the cursor is in the position you want to write, and then touch the pen to the screen and write as you normally would. Touching or tapping the screen with the pen is the same as a left click. The eraser function will erase only the marks, and never the music. (back to top)
